چکیده

Shape matrix decomposition is a subproblem in radiation therapy planning. A given fluence matrix A has to be written as a sum of shape matrices corresponding to homogeneous fields that can be shaped by a multileaf collimator (MLC). We solve the problem to find an approximation B of A satisfying prescribed upper and lower bounds for each entry. The approximation B is determined such that the corresponding fluence can be realized with a prescribed delivery time using a multileaf collimator with interleaf collision constraint, and under this condition the distnace between A and B is minimized.

Fair Allocation with Succinct Representation

Motivated by applications in guaranteed delivery in computational advertising, we consider the general problem of fair allocation in a bipartite supply-demand setting. Our formulation captures the notion of deviation from fairness by a convex penalty function. While this formulation admits a convex programming solution, we strive for more timeand space-efficient algorithms. For the case of L1 p...

The Quadratic Shortest Path Problem: Complexity, Approximability, and Solution Methods

We consider the problem of finding a shortest path in a directed graph with a quadratic objective function (the QSPP). We show that the QSPP cannot be approximated unless P = NP. For the case of a convex objective function, an n-approximation algorithm is presented, where n is the number of nodes in the graph, and APX-hardness is shown. Furthermore, we prove that even if only adjacent arcs play...

The Minimum Universal Cost Flow in an Infeasible Flow Network

In this paper the concept of the Minimum Universal Cost Flow (MUCF) for an infeasible flow network is introduced. A new mathematical model in which the objective function includes the total costs of changing arc capacities and sending flow is built and analyzed. A polynomial time algorithm is presented to find the MUCF.

Scheduling of Multiple Autonomous Guided Vehicles for an Assembly Line Using Minimum Cost Network Flow

This paper proposed a parallel automated assembly line system to produce multiple products having multiple autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs). Several assembly lines are configured to produce multiple products in which the technologies of machines are shared among the assembly lines when required. The transportation between the stations in an assembly line (intra assembly line) and among station...

Capacity Inverse Minimum Cost Flow Problem under the Weighted Hamming Distances

Given an instance of the minimum cost flow problem, a version of the corresponding inverse problem, called the capacity inverse problem, is to modify the upper and lower bounds on arc flows as little as possible so that a given feasible flow becomes optimal to the modified minimum cost flow problem. The modifications can be measured by different distances. In this article, we consider the capac...
